Binding books since 2022

Sting & Snout Bindery is the home studio of Zita Dela Cruz, a Filipina bookbinder based in the Philippines. What began as a solo hobby in May 2022—binding beloved fanfiction into physical books—slowly blossomed into a full-fledged bindery. By late 2024, Zita began sharing her work more openly, and what started as a one-woman passion project has since become a family affair, with loved ones now lending their hands and hearts to the process.

.

Zita is a self-taught bookbinder who practices traditional techniques using archivally stable, high-quality materials. She’s especially drawn to the idea of translating a book’s story into a tactile design—then crafting that design into a real, holdable object. Her work often features recessed covers, embroidery, and painted details that bring each piece to life.

.

In late 2024, Zita also ventured into leatherwork, which has since become the heart of the bindery’s current offerings. Today, Sting & Snout is best known for its handcrafted Leather Folios—designed for writers, journalers, and paper lovers who value beauty, function, and a personal touch.

At Sting & Snout, every piece is more than just a product—it’s a story, a craft, and a tactile experience made to be held and loved for years to come.
